KINGS’S PLATE
The historic Plate takes place at Woodbine, is the first jewel in Canada’s Triple Crown of Thoroughbred Racing. Hats have always been a fashion statement for both men and women at the races,” said Ann Scott Director of Events & Sponsorships for WEG. “We expect the nearing Queen’s Plate to be no different. It’s our pleasure to name David the first ever official milliner of the race.”
Dunkley was trained by the Royal Milliner to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother and has outfitted racegoers from Kentucky to Ascot – including the Royal Enclosure. Dunkley has created designs for the Royal Wedding and his celebrated Diamond Jubilee collection millinery has been inducted into the Fashion History Museum.
“Millinery is fun and is a visual of one’s personality,” Dunkley said. “Being the ‘first’ Milliner to present a collection on behalf of the Queen’s Plate - now King's Plate, is an honour and creative pleasure.”
