A highlight of the event is the opportunity to select your own handmade fascinator, designed by David Dunkley. With a curated collection of forty unique pieces in a range of colours, each guest will choose a design that speaks to their personal style — the perfect accessory to wear and take home.

Every milliner and creative has them — beautiful ideas that began with excitement but somehow stalled before the final stitch. If you have hats or millinery projects waiting to be completed, this focused five-hour one day workshop is designed to help you bring them back to life.

In this energizing studio session, you’ll receive personalized guidance as you revisit unfinished pieces, refine your design vision, and develop a clear plan to complete your work with the guidance of a professional Milliner. Whether you need technical advice, millinery blocks, design direction, or simply the motivation to push through the final stages, this workshop gives you the time, support, and expert insight to help you move forward with confidence.

Bring one or several projects and spend the session actively working on them while receiving hands-on feedback and creative problem-solving support. You’ll leave with renewed momentum, practical solutions, and the satisfaction of seeing your work finally reach the finish line.

This workshop is open to students who have previously completed a class with David Dunkley Fine Millinery or with Tierre Taylor, as well as those who have trained or worked within a recognized millinery program. At the DDFM workshop you will have the unique opportunity to work directly with me over the course of six weeks, three hours per Tuesday night. This expanded course will allow students to learn and create at a slower pace allowing projects to be larger and more complex or if you want to not feel so rushed this is the course for you! I will guide you through the entire creative process of millinery from blocking and forming to embellishment. No matter your skill level, I am dedicated to ensuring that everyone feels comfortable and supported throughout the workshop creating a hat or fascinator of their choice .

The class size is intentionally kept small, with a maximum of six participants. Together, we will decide on millinery projects and styles that captivate your imagination.

To make the workshop experience as seamless as possible, I will assist you with contacts in ordering the main supplies (felt hoods or Sinamay) needed for the class.

Innovative Felt Fascinators

Turn felt into wearable art in this exciting, hands-on millinery workshop.

Join acclaimed milliner Tierre Taylor for a creative session where felt cut-offs from hat making are transformed into bold, one-of-a-kind cocktail hats. Working with cuttings you can create unexpected shapes that pushes the imagination and felt in new directions, proving that reinventing with felt cuttings and create some of the most inventive designs.

During the workshop, you’ll learn how to drape felt pieces, construct a secure base, add millinery wire for structure, neatly finish edges, and explore decorative trims that bring your piece to life. Along the way, you’ll discover techniques that combine sustainability with couture craftsmanship.

This class is playful, inventive, and perfect for anyone who loves experimenting with materials and design. By the end of the session, you’ll leave with a beautifully finished fascinator and a collection of creative millinery techniques you can use again and again.

Straw Cloche Workshop with Tierre Taylor

Straw Cloche Worshop with Tierre Taylor

Step into the timeless elegance of millinery and create your own Straw Cloche in this inspiring two-day workshop.

The cloche — the iconic bell-shaped hat of the 1920s — remains one of fashion’s most elegant and wearable silhouettes. In this hands-on class, you’ll learn how to craft your own couture cloche from start to finish under the guidance of Milliner Tierre Taylor, celebrated for her beautifully refined and modern interpretations of this classic design.

Over two creative days , Tierre will share her signature draping techniques and trim secrets as you shape a straw hat body over a balsa block to create a perfectly fitted cloche. You’ll learn essential millinery skills including stabilizing the fit with a sweatband, reinforcing the shape with millinery wire, and finishing your hat with a crisp grosgrain edge. Finally, you’ll add decorative trims that highlight the graceful lines of your design and make the piece uniquely yours.

All materials are included — just bring your enthusiasm, your hand-sewing skills, and any special trims or embellishments you’d love to incorporate.

By the end of the workshop, you’ll leave with a stunning handmade cloche and the confidence that comes from learning true couture millinery techniques.

Two day Introduction to Tambour beading
Teacher: Robert Haven

Robert Haven Tambour beading workshop

This class will provide a basic introduction to the tools, materials and techniques used in traditional tambour beading which is the cornerstone of embellishment in the French Haute Couture industry and Robert Haven’s hands-on teaching style will guide you gently step by step into the romantic world of Tambour Beading. Starting with preparing the fabric on the frame students will progress to learning the basic tambour stitch with thread then move on to adding beads and sequins to the design.

Together with Robert Haven you will practice with two different sequin applications, as well as work with seed beads and bugle beads all of which use the same basic stitch. The front of the design will include surface stitching using the tambour hook with just thread.

However no need to worry if you don’t have something – all your supplies (and fabrics) are included!
